Description:
|
Erected between 298 and 306 A.D., these springs extend over a surface of about 140,000 square meters and could hold 3,000 people. This complex of springs included hot baths and a swimming pool all surrounded by ample gardens of green where also sat a hall for conferences and readings large enough to hold a library but then later transformed into the Church of San Bernardo alle Terme in 1598 in the place where Piazza della Republica stands today.
