Description:

The building was finished in 13 BC by Augustum, who dedicated it of his nephew Marcellus (son of his sister Ottavia, who died prematured in 23 BC). It could hold about 15.000 spectators and, now, it is the only ancient theater remained in Rome. In the 16th century the noble family of Savelli turned it into a palace.
