View of El Morro Lighthouse. The El Morro fort (long name is Castillo de San Felipe del Morro) construction began on 1539 with and observation tower. The main contruction occured on the 1700s. It was build to protect the San Juan bay from attacks from the sea. It was taken once by land, and once (300 years after being built) by sea on 1898.
