Q - What
is Byte Gallery?
A - Byte Gallery is a
friendly online photo sharing gallery and photo hosting service, enabling
photographers to store and share photos with family, friends, clients
and fellow photographers. You can access Byte Gallery from any internet-connected
computer, for viewing or uploading pictures. Photos in the gallery
are presented in an elegant and stylish manner with instant creation
of personalised albums. Images hosted in the albums can
be shared publicly or privately and can also be browsed through as
slide shows. Also, photos can be sent to someone of your choice by
the means of e-cards.

Q - How can I create
an account?
A(a) - Gallery
Guest account :
No photo uploads, only comments allowed. Sign up for a Guest
membership !
A(b) - Premium
Gallery account :
i - Select from one of our three Premium Gallery
Plans, 100, 200, 300 megabytes
ii - Enter your member ID number
iii - Go to the secure checkout
You will recieve an email confirmation message when your account
has been activated, however, we will further contact you when your
account has been verified, enabling you to begin creating your online
gallery and start sharing photos.
You may UPGRADE your gallery account at any time in 100 megabyte increments
for only $16.95 yearly.

Q - How
do I access My Gallery or photos?
A - To access your photo gallery, login using the username and password that
you chose when subscribing, then click on the 'My Gallery' link
[top-right].
Direct acces to your gallery page can be achieved by using the
following URL :
http://www.bytegallery.com/put-your-user-name-here
NOTE: if there is a space in your username fill
the empty space with a dash [ - ] as in the example
URL above. You will also be sent your gallery address by email when
subscribed to a Premium Gallery Plan.

Q - How do I create a
new album?
A - To create an new album in your photo gallery, login, click the link 'Album
Admin' [top-right] and
in the Photo Gallery Album Editor choose "Add Album".
On the following page you may then write a title and description for the
album and also choose whether it be private or public.

Q - How do I add photos
to my gallery?
A - To add photos to your gallery, login and click on the 'Upload
Photos' link, then follow the instructions on the Upload Photo
page.

Q - How do I edit / delete
a photo?
A - To edit a photo, login,
click on the photo to edit and then choose 'Edit Photo' [under
photo]. You may move the photo to another album, change the title, description,
keywords etc. To delete the photo check the option at the bottom of the
page and click 'submit changes'.

Q - How do I share my gallery
or photos(s) with others?
A - You
can share your gallery address with friends and family by sending them
the following URL :
www.bytegallery.com/your-username
Password protected private albums can be shared with invited guests by
copying and sending them the URL found in the Photo Gallery Album Editor under
the appropriate album name.
Photos can be easily embedded in digital photography and camera related
community discussion boards by copying the Photo URL found
beneath each photo and pasting it in the forum message.
Many forums need that you
put the Photo URL between [IMG] tags, for example [IMG]http://www.bytegallery.com/data/1234/my-photo-file.jpg[/IMG] .

Q - Does Byte Gallery restrict
the photo sizes?
A - The maximum upload size is limited to 2000Kb and the dimensions are restricted
to 2500 pixels wide and 2500 pixels high. There is a medium sized image automatically
created on uploading for better onscreen viewing. This has a maximum image size
of 800 pixels wide.

Q - How long can I keep my photos
with Byte Gallery?
A - Byte
Gallery charges a yearly fee for the photo gallery and picture hosting
service. For a starting price of only $19.95 per year, you can store
and share vast amounts of photos for as long as you decide.

Q - I can't
upload photos to my gallery or albums?
A - This can happen when you have
recently subscribed to a Premium Gallery
Plan and
have only received the account activation email. After
verification of your account you
will receive a second email announcing the full
activation and therefore enabling you to upload photos.

Q - Why
can't I log in / log out?
A - If you are having log
in / log out issues, try some of the following solutions before contacting
us.
You must have your browser enabled to accept cookies.
Make sure you are using the correct username and password that
you submitted when you initially subscibed.
Delete the www.bytegallery.com cookie
information here. For
some browsers a more efficient way is to delete them directly from your
browsers' security control panel.
Log in again when you have deleted the cookies.
Reduce your browsers' security settings to 'medium'.
If you are behind a firewall add www.bytegallery.com
to your trusted
websites list.
